grantmx is a small design studio located in Atlanta, Ga founded by Marshall Grant and his incredibly beautiful wife Malaka Grant. We build awesome websites for clients, as well as build and buy income producing web properties and have other business ventures across the internet.

grantmx.com is designed as a portal to showcase the photography and design projects of grantmx | designs, the web design arm of grantmx. This site is also acts as a resource for small businesses and Non-Profit Organizations and Churches to gain knowledge of available web technology to assist in their pursuit of success.

Why the name, grantmx?

You may be asking yourself, "Why the name, grantmx?' Is it because you liked Macromedia's Dreamweaver MX so much that you just had to bite the name like a lot of other folk did?" No way. I was not that void of ideas.

I actually derived the name from my first Windows95 (Yeah, remember Win95) username at my first IT job out of college, Grant1MX. Let me break it down for you:

  • Grant: For my last name
  • No. 1: A random number picked by the IT&S department
  • M: For my first name - Marshall
  • X: For my middle name, which I don't have. That's right. I don't have a middle name so the IT people just gave me an "X."

So, I thought it was a pretty cool username and my first username too-boot, therefore I kept it and dropped the number one. Primarily, because it looked corny in the logo.
